Bublé invokes the nostalgia that underpins so much Christmas music by mimicking crooners of another era, Sinatra most notably. His attempts to show his versatility and relevancy come off as manufactured, stale pastiche, a bland, paint-by-numbers approach that succeeds only in being indistinguishable from the canon it reveres.
