Ahhh, the hot air, the opportunity to be scantily clad, the road trips and vacations- summer is good to us all as it welcomes us outside and into adventures. This is probably why many artists are influenced by this wonderful season to feature it in their music, as Asher Roth and Pretty Lights have done. Girl Talk was also inspired to put together a mix of 154 songs that would get you through any summer cookout, with a combination of tracks to help you relax and party. Check out the details below:
Asher Roth
Don't worry, "Summertime" isn't a cover of Will Smith. Pairing up with producer Nottz and Quan on vocals, Asher Roth put out a summer jam suitable for 2011. Stream it above and download it below so you can take it in the car with you.
Pretty Lights
Pulling inspiration and sounds from eight different tracks about summer, dub producer Pretty Lights took his favs of the season and warped it into a slick mash-up that emanates a heat of its own. Listen to and watch "Summertime" below and download it over at his Facebook page.

Vulture Magazine was thinking smart when they asked Gregg Gillis to make them an ultimate summer playlist. Luck would have it, he immediately thought back to a party he went to last year that had the perfect combination of chill and thrill. Using that memory as motivation, he put together 154 songs that range from Yo La Tengo to T.I. to Hall and Oates. Check out the entire list with links at Vulture.
