Chilly Gonzales

After setting the world record for the longest solo concert and aiding Peaches with a scandalous musical, Chilly Gonzales set his sights on creating the world's first all-orchestral rap album. Fast-forward a bit and now not only can he say he did it, but you can hear a medley of what's in store and mark your calendars for its release on June 7.

A press release for the string and brass-centric The Unspeakable Chilly Gonzales previews that his latest album will be rife with "Hollywood swells, tympani rolls, noble French horns [and] hypnotizing bells." For you classical music nerds, there's the potential of picking up on the influential vibes of Prokofiev, Morricone and Phillip Glass. Judging by the medley, it's a disarming juxtaposition of rhymes and styles, but also a noteworthy endeavor that would not surprise me in becoming its own musical.
