Advancement of technology means hardly anything in this era. Dozens of independent and mainstream artists are referring to video technology from the '70s and '80s, while others are taking the sounds originally endeavored upon 30 years ago and adding to them greater depth and clarity. Take for example the music of Class Actress. Pulling cues from new wave in their choice of synth effects and artificial drum beats, the first track off their sophomore album, "Keep You," carries an air of nostalgia that is stale yet crisp. Grab it here and also when the upcoming LP Rapprocher drops October 18.
