Coming into this show, I knew three things about Cults: 1) I like listening to "Go Outside" a lot. 2) I heard they all look alike in a creepy way. 3) Seeing them play in a church would be kind of funny, ecclesiastically speaking. Their set at the Pitchfork showcase confirmed all of these things. Taking the stage, five of the six were dressed all in white and had straight, shoulder-length dark hair, looking almost as if they could've been a bizarro-world travelling family band. They played "Go Outside", which was fun, and they all seemed pretty focused on supporting vocalist Madeline Follin, who bobbed and swayed throughout the set, but didn't project a ton of confidence or vocal chops.
