As with 2008's Feed the Animals, Girl Talk a.k.a. Gregg Gillis is releasing his latest album All Day for free. You can download it as 12 individual mp3s or as a 71-minute track at Illegal Art's site. Gillis says that the album should be listened to as a whole, which, if you've ever had Girl Talk pop up in a shuffle, makes sense given his effort at seamless segues. Split up the tracks and they start and end jarringly.
What's more, Guinness World Records needs to create a section just for how many samples a producer can use in a set amount of time, because there are 373 songs used in this one album. You can even see people update the album's Wikipedia page in real time and see how many are in one track alone. For example, the first track "Oh No" has Black Sabbath, Ludacris, Jay-Z, Jane's Addiction, T.I., Kanye West, M.I.A., Slick Rick, The Doors, The Ramones and Missy Elliott all in less than five minutes. Crazy!
