Jeff Buckley

To me, Jeff Buckley's Grace is a hallowed recording. Is that a courageous statement? No. It's more a statement of the obvious. And those that love it, will probably always love it and those that are too cool for it will...well, they can go fuck themselves. It's a pure record that comes from somewhere deep and although it has assumed a place in the canon that may or may not have been heightened by an unfortunate accident? (read up on his death), it still remains something that pretty much anybody can come to table on and see why it's special. That said, he was also gifted at giving life to his songs outside the containment of a studio. And it is in this form that you can hear some "new" performances, as KCRW is streaming its Morning Becomes Eclectic show from '94 (the same year as Grace was released) with him HERE. Enjoy.
