Kanye West has been getting a shit ton of publicity recently releasing a song every week for the past three, but so far his collaborators had been usual suspects: Common, John Legend, Kid Cudi . . . but all of a sudden we have Mos Def in the mix. He's spent some time under the radar, even after releasing The Ecstatic in 2009, and being signed under one of the biggest/most controversial/most annoying rappers' labels is sure to thrust him to forefront of our aggregate sites in the future.
G.O.O.D. (Getting Out Our Dreams) Music has already let loose three collabs with Kanye, and "Lord, Lord, Lord" features not only the recently acquired Mos Def but also Swizz Beatz, Raekwon and Charlie Wilson. The lyrical vocals are a little disjointed throughout the rhymes –and Kanye comes off as kinda cliche in some of his word plays– but they shine out at the end in repetition. The best part in my opinion is Mos Def's sexy, smoothe spits of insightful lines. Enjoy the stream above and the free download below.
