Lupe Fiasco
Surrounded by dense orchestral peaks, Lupe comments on politics, bullying and reality television with a rhythm that's both even and enigmatic. Skylar Grey offers a melodic chorus to his second official single off Lasers, "Words I Never Said," so those of you who can't keep up with the spit can sing along. Blare this if you can from the stream above, then snag it below for keeps.
Lasers is set for release on March 8.
Toro Y Moi
Rather than let this track fly free as a floating leak, as it would've otherwise, Toro Y Moi has officially released a second single to his forthcoming album. "New Beat" stays in congruence with the funky fuzz of "Still Sound," with some softer synths blanketing the wickety-wah-wahs so often found in 70s music. Hear "New Beat" above via soundcloud.
Underneath the Pine is set for release on February 22 via Carpark.
The Kills
This player (SoundCloud) didn’t survive.
While taking a break from chilling with Jack White in Dead Weather, Alison Mosshart met back up with Jamie Hince to get some Kills tracks out. Unfortunately they lost six songs when Jamie's girlfriend Kate Moss threw his laptop in a swimming pool, but that didn't stop them from bringing you "Satellite," which is off their upcoming album, Blood Pressures. Hear the gasping, crunching, stuttering single above via soundcloud.
Blood Pressures is set for release on April 5 via Domino.
