Toro Y Moi

A week after seeing Washed Out wreck the house at the Mercury Lounge, I was excited to see his counterpart on the chillwave scene, Toro Y Moi. Predictably, he lived up to the hype. “It’s going to be a short one today,” he announced, “because it’s South by Southwest.” The set was the definition of short and sweet – five or six grooving songs that got the crowd moving while simultaneously entrancing them. I could watch a set like this one every day of the week.
