Pickathon 2011

Blend eco-friendly camping on lush meadows with bands playing in the midst of Oregonian forests and you're at Pickathon: a festival dedicated to indie roots music on an 80-acre plot of farm land in Mt. Scott. The line-up is up for perusing today, and this year six stages will be graced by the likes of Califone, Damien Jurado, Thao, Fruit Bats and more!

Starting August 5th and continuing until the 7th, you can live on Pendarvis Farm, which offers hiking, beer gardens, food and craft vendors and a view of the ominous Mt. Hood. Pickathon supports a green initiative that offers bus transportation to the festival, reusable stainless steel cups for free water and cheap beer, and other opportunities to show Mother Earth that you love her. Kids under 12 are free and have kid-oriented activities awaiting them. You're also encouraged to bring an instrument and jam with a few of the bands in musical workshops. Fun times!

Tickets are $130, include camping fees and can be purchased on the Pickathon website. That's a pretty sweet deal for all that's included! Before you click the link make sure to scope out that line-up below:
