Panda Bear

Music fans currently playing Merriweather Post Pavilion on repeat and thirsting after any new Animal Collective tracks available should switch from a one-track to a two-track mind. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly Online, Noah Lennox - better known as Panda Bear - stated that he plans to start recording a follow-up to 2007's Person Pitch in late September. Person Pitch was one of the most critically lauded albums in recent years, and was named Pitchfork's top album of 2007. Speaking about the new album, Lennox said, "I’ve spent all the time since the last one was released thinking about new songs and new equipment and new ways of doing songs for me, but I haven’t recorded anything I feel good about releasing just yet. My plan is to begin recording after the ATP shows — so late September I suppose I’ll really get started."

If recent stylistic evolutions of Animal Collective are any barometer, music fans can pretty much plan on being blown away by whatever Panda Bear cooks up.
