Chris Cornell has been struggling for years. I said it. And anybody that tries to use Audioslave as a high point can just walk the other way. I could go into his recent solo work with Timbaland (let's not), or anything else he has done since Soundgarden broke up, but the truth remains...his releases have been dismal. Which is why it is not surprising that he is going back to Soundgarden, the group in which he flourished, and inspired, and stood high above us wailing things like "Jesus Christ Pose" and "My Wave." I miss that Chris Cornell and I will admit that my eyebrow raised a bit (in a good way) when I saw that he had announced (on New Years) that the band was getting back together via his Twitter page.

The exact phrase was: "The 12 year break is over ... Knights of the Soundtable ride again!"

Let's see where this goes and if you want a more direct line to the band, sign up for updates on their website here for news about further developments.
