Please tell me that this is only a slight exaggeration on what I will be seeing when I visit Portland in March. Polygamist free-range farms? Hide and Seek Leagues? Embroidery made from human hair? Honestly though, one of my favorite aspects of the first episode of Portlandia, starring Fred Armisen and Sleater-Kinney's Carrie Brownstein, was the moments when average people – like Steve Buscemi – pointed out the ridiculous nature of these characters' behaviors.
That and Washed Out's "I Feel It All" is the theme song. I'm going to go buy some flannel, get a bunch of tattoos and retire early in Portland now (not really).
