Atlas Sound

Three mega-synth, -electronica, -chillwave, -awesome bands released exciting information today, and I'm condensing it all into one jam-packed post for you so you don't have to troll the internet finding each morsel of goodness. Atlas Sound released a mixtape, Cut Copy released a single off of Zonoscope and M83 divulged details of his upcoming album.

Atlas Sound:
Frontman of Deerhunter, Bradford Cox, shared the download for his Bedroom Databank Vol. 1 on the band's blogspot today under his solo moniker Atlas Sound. The title track rife with soothing harmonicas "Green Glass Bottles" can be heard above and snagged for keeps below. A mixtape tracklisting can be seen . . . NOW:

01 “Green Glass Bottles”
02 “These Were My Walls”
03 “Wild Love”
04 “Lanterns”
05 “New Romantic”
06 “Cynic’s Recourse”
07 “Freak Train” (Kurt Vile Cover)
08 “Afternoon Drive”
09 “Hotel Orlando”
10 “This Wheel’s On Fire” (Bob Dylan/The Band cover)
11 “Postcard”

Cut Copy:
Pop-synth Australia-dudes released their first official single off Zonoscope, which we heard about a little earlier. "Take Me Over" has all the equations for a feel-good dance number worthy of radio plays. The lyrics are easy to catch on to – here's a hint, it's the title of the song over and over for the chorus – and the "oooo"s give even the tone deaf a chance to sing along. Check out "Take Me Over" in the sound cloud below:

M83:
Pitchfork interviewed M83 mastermind Anthony Gonzalez and he gave them the gist on how he feels about his upcoming, unnamed sixth album:

For now, the direction of the album is very, very, very epic. Very orchestrated. I feel like it's a mix of all my albums, actually. I'm singing much more on this album too, and I'm very happy with my voice right now. We have like 22 tracks right now. It's silly to say, but I feel like this is going to be my best album-- my most complete album. I'm turning 30 in December and I feel like I finally know what I'm doing. I'm a bit scared because Saturdays was a bit bright, and maybe people are expecting me to go even brighter on this. But I'm going darker.

SO EXCITED.

On a less introspective note, this Lonely Island parody/promo sounds a little too much like M83's "Moonchild" off Don't Save Us From the Flames:
