Animal Collective

A big part of music blogging is taking those scraps bands feed us and dispersing them for mass consumption. Though, being scraps, we are often left hungering for more. Among the tasty morsels I've found under the table are videos from Animal Collective, Death From Above 1979 and Arcade Fire. Each one eludes to a different outcome . . .

Animal Collective
Last fall news emerged that the shoe company Keep and Animal Collective would be teaming up to design some killer kicks. Well now that those kicks are ready for mass consumption, the band is also releasing a mixtape with every shoe purchase. Proceeds from the shoes/mixtape will go to the Sorocco Island Conservation fund, and you can make your contribution starting on March 26. Check out the cover art above, tracklisting below and trailer for both items below that:

1) “Jailhouse” :: Geologist
2) “Call home (buy grapes)” :: Avey Tare
3) “Country Report” :: Deakin
4) “The Preakness” :: Panda Bear

Death From Above 1979
This is where eardrums come to die.
Building hype for their reunion, SXSW and Coachella gigs, Death From Above 1979 prove they still got what it takes to make sweet, destructive, sexy music. They posted a video of their rehearsal of "Little Girl," which can be viewed here:

Arcade Fire
Spike Jonze's music video for Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs" was merely a collection of shots from his short film, Scenes from the Suburbs, which he co-wrote with Win and Will Butler. Based outside of Austin, Texas and debuted at the Berlin Film Festival, Scenes from the Suburbs will get a viewing at SXSW 2011 and centers around dissolving friendships. Here's the trailer for your enjoyment:
