I'll keep this short. But only because I have no shot at describing the excellence of Holy Fuck's performance. Other than First Aid Kit, Holy Fuck was the lone beacon of energy in the dull wasteland that was the Young Turk's Thursday showcase. Backed by dynamic bass and drums, Holy Fuck's frontmen, Brian Borcherdt and Graham Walsh crouched, grooved, knob-turned and physically created (film strips, butter knife, surprisingly analog) dance-inducing electro tracks that exploded into euphoric highs that kept me moving well after their set had ended. It was wonderful to watch Holy Fuck's creation process and to catch nods and smiles between members, which suggested that although they were playing tracks from their albums, what the audience was witnessing was spontaneous and improvised. Hands down, the best show I saw at SXSW.
