Though it may have been April Fools Day, nothing about Mount Kimbie's set felt like a joke. In fact, according to our resident electro-photographer Lymay Iwasaki, the combination of Mount Kimbie and Shigeto was a great pairing. His only knock was that Shigeto's ramped up set made it hard to shift into the mindset required to appreciate the more stripped-down soundscapes Mount Kimbie is known for. Not that their set wasn't good, he said. It was more a matter of headphone electronic vs. dancefloor electronic and in a live setting, the latter tends to speak louder.
