Interpol have had a strange year, replacing two bassists and now opening for U2's 360° Tour. Playing to a cavernous football stadium, they worked the filled inner stage area with a firm swagger, but the songs got muddled before hitting the cheap seats. Still, it was great to see how many rabid Interpol fans poured out their dancing energy even before Bono hit the stage. At the end of the day, Interpol is a band that needs less light and less sunglasses to pull off their post-punk vibe. My highlight was watching touring bass player, Brad Truax, smile at his girlfriend who was also shooting their set. Cute!
