Sadly, Dan Bejar and Neko Case were nowhere to be seen at the New Pornographers' B.O.M.B. Fest performance. Even more sadly, a crowd was, likewise, nowhere to be found.
Luckily, Katherine Calder can sing Neko's parts very well, and A.C Newman and crew perform a full setlist drawing from their many releases. The New Pornographers' songs have a strange effect on me, where every lyric sticks in my memory. I tried my best to make up for the thin crowd by singing the lyrics as loud as I could. It was just a shame that there was no crowd to return the same energy and life brought on stage by this extremely loved and prolific band.
