Ford’s first solo album (post roots country trio The Be Good Tanyas) is solid from beginning to end. Sing along, I dare you. Notice how your voice shrivels alongside her Southern blues cat-purr melodies and country gospel brand of nostalgia. “Blue Streak Mama” is a sassy cut above the rest.
