Modest Mouse

Eddie Vedder
Not much has been developing on the Pearl Jam front after their ominous festival announcement came out. Now there's some news targeted straight towards fans who love them some Eddie Vedder, who has released information on his solo album, Ukulele Songs, including the above cover art, tracklist below and some tour dates. The underwater sculpture was made by sculptor James deCaires Taylor, who describes the work as:

...a man sitting at a desk with a typewriter. The desk is covered with a collection of newspaper articles and cuttings that date back to the 1970s. Many of these have political significance, a number detail Grenada’s alignment with Cuba in the period immediately prior to the revolution. The work informs the rapid changes in communication between generations. Taking the form of a traditional correspondent, the lone figure becomes little more than a relic, a fossil in a lost word.

Perhaps this sculpture paired with the title equates to a sense of being out-dated, insignificant or lost, but really only the tone of the sixteen tracks detailed on the album will tell.

Modest Mouse
Thanks to the informational goldmine that is Twitter, news has popped up that Big Boi is working with Modest Mouse on their latest album. No specifications as to whether he will be producing, performing or just chilling with the band, but here's to hoping that as Modest Mouse's sound progresses they take some chances. I mean, who better to take that chance with than with Big Boi? As more information comes out be sure that you can find it here!
