Francis Ford Coppola is making a new horror thriller flick starring Val Kilmer, Bruce Dern, Ben Chaplin and Elle Fanning called Twixt Now and Sunrise and guess who's making the soundtrack! Dan. Deacon. Dan Deacon! Pardon my incredulity but I'm pretty sure Coppola was a king of sweeping orchestral soundtracks rife with periodic references and thick climaxes. Imagining mixing that precedent with the nasally loops of Deacon is quite a brain tease indeed.
Not saying it can't be done! In fact, judging by the track "Wet Wings" I have via soundcloud above for you there is an excellent chance that this soundtrack could be fantastic with Coppola's imagery.
A cheesy little news video was made announcing vague details on Twixt Now and Sunrise plus fun animations of Val Kilmer's head floating on other bodies. I want you to take a look at the man that is Francis Ford Coppola, who made The Godfather and Bram Stoker's Dracula. Ponder his legacy. Now watch Liam Lynch's video treatment to Deacon's "Drinking Out of Cups." WHAT.
