"Have you ever listened to a song so many times that it loses all form and meaning?" asks "A Brief History of Rebellion," who will be testing the means to that question with Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Debuted 20 years ago, the iconic single by one of the most prominent grunge bands ever will be performed 144 times by several different bands at Toronto Underground Cinema, accompanied by 'weird projections and lots of fountain pop.'

Anticipated bands include Fucked Up, Tokyo Police Club, Buck 65, Woodhands, Gallows, One Hundred Dollars, the Flatliners, Junior Battles, Buck 65 and D-Sisive, plus whoever wants to jump on stage and keep the song going. So if you're in Canada, prepare to fall in love, grow to hate or become bored with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" over and over and over again. And over again.

Kudos to the land up north for providing an interesting way to signify Nevermind's twentieth year. We can also look forward to an interview with Jon Stewart and the remaining members, a tribute album, reissue with box set and tribute show in the future.
