Take the most sincerest emotion you've ever felt - whether it's love, hate, remorse, exhilaration - and make light of it. Take about fifty pounds off that feeling and just start grooving to it, and that's how you might feel about Hercules & Love Affair's cover of The xx's "Shelter." Please, don't get me wrong, they're not mocking the emotive sincerity of the original. Far from it actually. In filling that dense musical void with dancing blips and beats, H&LA is translating the same message to a different audience. Not sure if you get my meaning?
