Some things have changed since the last time I saw Annie Rossi play: She has a backing band, she’s mostly ditched her viola bow, and she looks happier. Playing a number of new songs and strumming her viola, Rossi held the inside room of the Mohawk transfixed. She smiled, showed off her engaging and impressive voice, and made new songs seem as familiar as old favorites. It’s a new take on her old look, and it sounds great.
