New Jersey native Andrew Cedermark is a former member of Titus Andronicus - he went to high school with those kids and played in the band before it blew up and got big. That fact gives you little to no indication as to the type of music Cedermark plays, though; in place of power punk riffs and aggressive edge, his music trades in post-rock crescendoes and nuanced melodies. Backed by a bassist and a drummer, and armed with a full quiver of distortion pedals, Cedermark made music large enough to fill the nearly empty cavern of Brooklyn Bowl at the beginning of the second day of Pitchfork's #Offline Festival in New York. It was a set that went unnoticed by many, but for those who were there it was the perfect start to a great day.
