What else we were talking about that week

If you've ever been to a Dirty Projectors concert, you know Angel Deradoorian - she's the brunette behind the keys, the one who seems a little more approachable than Amber Coffman. What you might not know, though, is that Deradoorian is an artist on her own as well, with an EP of material to her name. At Pitchfork's #Offline Festival, she was given a chance to showcase that side, to what she admitted was the biggest crowd she had ever played solo. Plunking away on an analog keyboard and occasionally playing guitar as well, Deradoorian sweetly sang subtly sensitive songs, wooing the crowd with her coos. It was a set that hinged on the vulnerability of a single performer and sparse songs, and it flourished amongst blue washes and adoring fans.
