Combine a Russian beatmaker and a Jamaican lyricist, shake them together and add a splash of the five one DC metro area, and you have Fly Gypsy. That description doesn’t do much to describe them—a slick combination of nice beats and impressive lyrics. “2 Step” was the highlight of their twenty minute snap of a set, although the entire run was solid, including a profound rap for Haiti and a dope rework of the Jackson 5. This duo recently got a mention in Source Magazine, which was definitely deserved. I wouldn’t expect to see them making it big anytime soon, though.
