I love this band. It's taken me a few times seeing them in concert to realize it, but I think Tanlines is as close to a guaranteed good time as young bands get. Every time the duo takes the stage, I start dancing and can't stop smiling. Their Caribbean-infused rhythms, mix of organic and synthetic sound, funny faces, and witty banter combine for an all-around great set. At Pitchfork's #Offline Festival, Tanlines managed to put together one of the best sets in a day full of music; indeed, their set at Brooklyn Bowl was one of my top few during the entirety of CMJ and #Offline combined. There's something to be said for a band that is so predictably enjoyable. That something is: Thanks.
